The Bedford River Festival is an event that takes place every two years, and it’s probably Bedfordshire’s claim to fame after John Bunyon! The town is renowned for having a beautiful river running through it called The Ouse, and for two days in July it get’s extremely lively! The embankment and parks are filled with food stalls, bars, live music and fair rides, while the river has many stunning boats going up and down.
It’s an event any boater will enjoy, especially when the weather’s nice, which it has been on the last two occasions. Remember to book early if you’re heading to Bedford river festival this year because the mooring spots sell out very quickly. If you’re not able to get your boat down there, you can camp instead, but be warned, the party often goes well into the night!
