Bruges is a wonderful city to visit, especially if you’re a keen boater or someone who just can’t refuse a little trip along the river. We recommend visiting Bruges in the winter because you get the wonderful fog rising from the water in the early morning, whilst it just seems more tranquil in the winter, and you can then warm up with a nice hot glass of cocoa. Bruges is a wonderful city for a boat ride, and as you start a journey, you wind through hundreds of historic buildings, with the classical monuments and iconic properties in the distance, so be sure to take your camera and make the most of it. What’s more, a boat ride is very cheap and they run all day, every day, unless the weather is completely torrential, so as long as you have an umbrella you’ll be fine, and it’s a very memorable experience and a great family day out.
